Third-year forward Patrick McCaw is expected to miss the start of the Golden State Warriors' training camp due to a contract dispute, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

McCaw has not signed his $1.7 million qualifying offer, which was extended his way in July. McCaw has until Oct. 1 at 11:59 p.m. ET to sign it, and then after that the Warriors can withdraw the offer and keep him as a restricted free agent, according to cap enthusiast Albert Nahmad.

McCaw has done little to merit more than the $1.7 million offered by the team, only having two seasons of faulty shooting to show for himself, along with a few encouraging flashes of progress.

The reason behind the Warriors extending an offer his way is his familiarity with the system. Steve Kerr will already have plenty to deal with as DeMarcus Cousins works his way back into playing shape.

The Warriors recently signed point guard Tyler Ulis to an Exhibit 10 contract, allowing him to take part in training camp and potentially secure the second two-way contract available, next to Damian Lee.

McCaw has little to no leverage in this negotiation, considering most teams are already heading into the regular season with a full roster, and he has yet to generate any major interest to warrant a dispute or any sense of urgency from the Warriors' front office to step up their offer.

The UNLV product is likely to see 15th-man-like minutes this season if he does miss training camp, allowing for the likes of newcomers Jonas Jerebko and rookie Jacob Evans to soak up most of the few minutes available on this talent-loaded roster.
