Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry surpassed Ray Allen's all-time three-point record on Tuesday night. Curry made his first three-point attempt, allowing him to tie Allen's record at 2,973. Just a few minutes later, he hit another one, breaking the record at Madison Square Garden.

Curry comes from a family of basketball stars, including his younger brother Seth, and their father, Dell, former NBA shooting guard. Seth took to Twitter immediately after the record-breaking shot to congratulate his older brother on his remarkable accomplishment.

Curry broke the record in the first quarter of the Warriors vs Knicks game Tuesday night. Prior to this, there were many games that Curry flirted with the record-breaker. On December 8, Curry was 16 three-pointers away from the new record going into the Warriors vs Trail Blazers game.

Steph totaled six three-pointers against Portland, meaning the Sixers would have to hold him to under ten on Saturday. Before that game, Seth knew that his big brother was coming to Philadelphia next, and that there was a good chance they would have to try to hold him off.

Sixers' small forward Matisse Thybulle was locked in one Curry the entire game, only allowing him to make three of his 14 three-point attempts. He needed seven more following the brotherly rivalry in Philadelphia.

In the Warriors' win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday, Steph picked up five more threes, which ultimately led him to Tuesday night.

Of course, Seth was going to be extremely happy for his older brother regardless of when he broke the record, but I'm sure he's glad it didn't happen while he was on the court playing against him.
