Stephen Curry is coming off his best-ever playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers, now four wins away from capturing a third straight NBA title and what could likely be his first Finals MVP trophy after coming up empty in the last three tries.

FOX Sports 1 personality Shannon Sharpe argued that the postseason accolade is the lone one missing from Curry's regalia of achievements and NBA records that have already put him as a future Hall of Famer, claiming he could be a top-10 player to ever play the game by cementing his name in history with a Finals MVP award:

“It's going to be hard if he wins this one, wins the MVP, that you leave him out of the top 10 all-time,” Sharpe said Tuesday morning on FS1's “Undisputed.” “People keep talking about how Stephen Curry is playing so bad in The Finals, but let me tell you who Steph Curry has a higher scoring average in The Finals than: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird and D-Wade.”

Sharpe argued that Curry had been playing well all along, but was rather outshined by a player having a historic run in Kevin Durant.

Curry also had a case for winning the MVP in 2015, when the Warriors notched their first title win in 40 seasons, but Andre Iguodala's insertion into the starting lineup and his all-around play proved to be the catalyst in the series and ultimately resulted in his coronation.

Four titles, two regular-season MVPs (one unanimous), six All-Star berths, six All-NBA mentions, a scoring title and a Finals MVP make a nearly unrivaled resume and one tough to beat in the pantheon of greats to ever play the game.

If Curry can muster the trophy that has long eluded him since the start of this dynastic run, it will surely reign as the cherry on top to adorn a highly decorated NBA career, with much more left in the horizon.
