On Wednesday night against L.A. Clippers, Kevin Durant achieved a exemplary accomplishment. With 40 points, Durant became the second youngest player to score 20,000 points in NBA History.

Although the Warriors were swiftly defeated by the Clippers, with absences from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Curry was the first teammate to congratulate him with a celebratory video, according to Alysha Tsuji. An excited Curry could be heard yelling, “Hey, congratulations, big fella. I got the first video of the second-youngest player to score 20,000 points. AAAHHHHH HAAA HAAAAA!!! Congrats, big fella.”

Durant was particularly humble after scoring 20,000 points, a feat that has been accomplished by NBA legends such as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan. When asked if he ever thinks about passing the 30,000 mark, Durant had an interesting comment according to Sam Amick of USA Today.

“I mean it would be cool to do that, but I’m not concerned about that, man. If I start focusing on that, it’s going to take my focus on what I really want to do. But for me as a player, though, like even if (that sort of mark) is in the back of my mind I know how easy it is to get off what I want to do. I know myself. That’s what I’m saying.”

Durant is one of the best scorers in the league. His amazing shooting prowess has reached the level that many NBA players only dream of. Now, Durant is heading for the 30,000 scoring mark. If his incredible scoring continues for the rest of his career, Durant could break 30,000 in the near future.
