The Golden State Warriors continue to fight for a spot in the playoffs, but they've certainly felt the absence of sharpshooter Klay Thompson. Stephen Curry has been left to carry the offensive load, which he has done phenomenally, but there's been a void left without Klay.

It also appears that watching from the sidelines night after night is really getting to Thompson. Steph was seen consoling his long-time teammate Friday night on the bench in a heartwarming moment that every Warriors fan around would love to see, per Warriors on NBCS:

Given that Thompson has a mask on, it's hard to tell if he's getting emotional in the video. Based on how Curry is comforting him though, it seems like the fact that he can't take the court is clearly getting to the Warriors veteran.

Thompson hasn't featured in an NBA game since the 2019 Finals, where he tore his ACL. Unfortunately, the Golden State guard also ruptured his Achilles in an offseason workout prior to this season, which has kept him off the court in 2020/21.

But, Thompson has been taking jumpers and doing limited basketball activities as he aims for a full-strength return next season. The Warriors have struggled without him but they still remain in the hunt for a play-in spot, thanks to the nightly brilliance of Curry.

The 33-year old is averaging a league-best 31.2 points while shooting 42.5% from three-point land. The team is currently 30-30, which is good for 10th in the heavily competitive Western Conference.

It will be a treat to eventually see the Splash Brothers together again but for now, Curry will be there to support Thompson as he watches the Warriors fight for their playoff lives.
