Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has missed the last few games with an ankle injury, but that hasn't stopped him from taking care of business.

Not basketball business, but football business. Earlier in the season, Curry expressed interest in buying the Carolina Panthers, the football team that plays in his hometown of North Carolina.

On Thursday, Curry re-upped that sentiment during a session with media, per Mark Medina of the San Jose Mercury News.

“Definitely,” Curry said Thursday afternoon. “Not a distraction but definitely something I’m working on.”

Curry mentioned what he feels has to happen in order to make that sentiment more of a reality, per Medina.

“Trying to figure out the right moves and the right partners,” Curry said. “You’ll hear stuff when I’m ready for that to make that be known all the way around but it's still ongoing.”

Another piece of Curry's motivation has more to do with history and legacy more than anything else. At present, there are no black owners of any of the 30 NFL franchises. Curry would relish the opportunity to buck that trend and become the first African American owner in the history of the football league.

“Knowing and having an opportunity to break that trend and stat, why not?” Curry said. “That’s a pretty powerful opportunity, and one that I know doesn’t come around that often. There’s not a lot of turnover in NFL ownership.”

It seems like it's only a matter of time that Curry becomes an owner of the Panthers. There are plenty of reasons for him to do so, and with the business acumen that he has shown, he would most likely a very good owner.
