The Golden State Warriors were given a proper scare on Saturday when superstar point guard Stephen Curry went down after twisting his ankle. According to Dubs head coach Steve Kerr, Curry's ankle brace just saved the former two-time MVP from suffering what could have been a serious injury.

Coach Kerr explained exactly how Steph's ankle brace functions as a means to protect Steph from a potential sprain:

“What happens if he rolls his ankle like the other night, the brace protects his ankle, but then the brace, as its protecting, jams into his leg,” Kerr said in a recent interview, via Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “… As he explained, that pain goes away quickly.”

Curry looked to be in considerable pain as soon as he went down during Saturday's 119-114 loss to the Boston Celtics. He did not have to exit the game though, and based on his eye-popping performance, it looks like he was perfectly fine after the scary incident.

Steph has had multiple issues with his ankles in the past, and this proved to be quite a problem for him early in his career. The Warriors have turned to technology to address this concern, and it looks like his ankle brace has been doing an impressive job in protecting Curry.

It does not sound like the Warriors superstar is going to miss any time with this recent knock, which is absolutely great news for the Dubs and their postseason hopes this season. Losing Curry at this point in the campaign would have pretty much ended their chances of securing a playoffs berth.
