Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was initially listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, so there was some danger of him missing his first game of the 2021-22 season. However, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters Thursday morning that Curry is now probable, according to The Athletic's Anthony Slater.

Curry is dealing with a left hip contusion, but clearly it's not bothering him enough to keep him out of this game in Cleveland. The Warriors star has plenty of memories of playing in this building, having won his first championship there in 2015. Curry, of course, battled LeBron James and the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals four seasons in a row.

While LeBron is gone, this game should still have plenty of juice. Golden State is an NBA-best 12-2 to start this season, while Cleveland is a surprising 9-7. The Cavs are a bit banged up, but they've been extremely resilient through injuries and a brutal schedule.

Curry is looking like an MVP candidate for the Warriors, averaging 28.7 points, 6.6 assists and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 45.4% from the field and 40.6% from 3-point range. It will be interesting to see if this hip injury slows him down at all in this game.

2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala will not be playing for rest purposes on the front end of a back-to-back.
