The Golden State Warriors will be without starting point guard Stephen Curry for at least two more games, as head coach Steve Kerr ruled him out for Monday's game against the LA Clippers and even for Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Stephen Curry missed Saturday's tilt against the Brooklyn Nets after suffering a groin strain in Thursday's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Kerr noted the training staff will be extremely careful with this injury, one he described as “new” for the two-time MVP.

“New injury for him,” said Kerr. “He’s never had a groin strain.”

The Warriors have a loaded week ahead, playing five times, including two back-to-backs at the front and back end of the week, boasting only Wednesday and Friday as their only days off.

It's likely Kerr will rotate his lineups heavily and offer his veterans some rest to avoid early-season fatigue. Curry is coming off an injury-riddled season, making only 51 appearances in 2017-18 before returning early in the playoff run to play a key role in retaining the title.

Kerr has been through issues like this before and isn't short on experience handling these matters, opting to err on the side of caution and ensure Stephen Curry has fully recovered before trotting him out there. The Warriors will however get another starter back in Draymond Green, who will face the Clippers after a brief absence, along with reserve point guard Shaun Livingston.
