Stephen Curry is ramping up his workouts ahead of the start of the NBA season, including doing the much-needed calf raises to get closer to his golf idol, Phil Mickelson. While the Golden State Warriors guard isn't quite up to the calves of gold standard that Mickelson's at, the lifelong golfer gave the NBA star a promise of showing him first-hand, plus a potential round of 18 holes at the upcoming Safeway Open in Napa, California.

Phil Mickelson, king of punny lines, awkward dances, acrobatic roundhouse kicks and Adonis-like calves, will have a few things to show the two-time MVP, who still has considerable work ahead of him to make his calves look like former teammate Andre Iguodala, let alone Mickelson.

The personal training will come bundled with some swings at the beautiful Napa greens at the North Course of the Silverado Resort and Spa, likely the last golf-related event Curry will attend prior to the start of Warriors training camp at the start of October.

The 2019-20 season will start on Oct. 22, with the Warriors playing their first preseason game on Oct. 5, their first of four tilts against the Los Angeles Lakers — playing a full season's worth of matchups against their Western Conference rivals before their regular season tips off on Oct. 24 against the LA Clippers.

Still a month away from the season-opener at the state of the art Chase Center, Curry will have plenty of time to work on his calves and on his swing, before taking the full weight of the club's expectations for the upcoming NBA campaign.
