The Golden State Warriors host the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday in a battle of the two best teams in the Western Conference, and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says it's a “big game” for the Dubs.

The Nuggets trail Golden State by one game for the No. 1 seed in the West. Even though the Warriors are universally recognized as the best team in the NBA, Kerr says having home court advantage in the playoffs is important.

“It’s a big game,” Kerr said, via Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle. “Nothing is as big as a playoff game, but it’s a big game in terms of the No. 1 seed and protecting our home court. We take care of our business and win tomorrow, we’re obviously in great shape down the stretch with the last 10 days of the season.”

“I think because we’re in the very final stage of the season, I think our guys are more focused. It’s not like this has been a long stretch where we’ve been dialed in. I sense there’s more of a sense of urgency now. I think we’ll come out (Tuesday) and play well.”

The Warriors are 52-24 on the season. Denver, meanwhile, is 51-25.

Steve Kerr and his Golden State is 2-1 against the Nuggets this season. Remarkably, both of the Dubs' wins are by double-digits while Denver's only victory is a 100-98 win in October 2018.
