After Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry set the new three-point record, all anyone near him could talk about was how he just made history. Nothing else mattered after defeating the New York Knicks, and rightfully so. When Steve Kerr got his chance, he spoke about how special Curry made the moment for his teammates.

“Steph in the locker room was vintage Steph. He was joyful. Grateful. He talked to the team about how much they mean to him. How much the game means to him and the process. It's just he is who he is. That's the beauty of Steph. He's so authentic and so genuine. I thought the night was perfect. It pretty much encapsulated who he is and his reaction to it was, was perfect,” Kerr told ClutchPoints.

It was Curry's moment, but every one of his Warriors teammates felt a part of it. Everyone wanted to be on the floor with him when he made history. Teammates even wanted to be the guy who passed him the ball to break the record.

“It's a bucket first, but I saw Steph with a little bit of space and a chance to make history, so I gave it up, and he made the shot,” Andrew Wiggins told ClutchPoints.

That's why Curry didn't waste any time opening up to the Warriors after the game. He wanted this moment to be bigger than him. Curry knew without his teammates, none of this was possible, and he wanted to make sure they knew it as well.

It was a perfect ending to a historical chase, and now Curry is the official king of the three-pointer. The next question is how high he can set the bar for the next Stephen Curry.
