San Francisco, CA – Thursday, the NBA announced Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks is being suspended for Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors. The suspension stems from his Game 2 flagrant-2 foul on Gary Payton II, which left the guard with a fractured elbow. The incident left the Warriors shorthanded, and Steve Kerr was furious about the foul.

Although Brooks is suspended for Game 3, it doesn't bring the Warriors coach any comfort.

“It doesn't matter. Gary's out. He's out for the foreseeable future for weeks,” Kerr told ClutchPoints.

The Warriors coach didn't want to talk about what happened or what should've happened. His only concern is winning the next game and the status of his injured guard.

“He's got a huge brace on his arm. He's going to be out for a long time, and he's crushed,” Kerr said. “Six years toiling away in the league, as I said the other night, in the spotlight, playing in the playoffs, playing a huge role, and playing well. That's all been taken away from him. So we all feel terrible for Gary. He deserves better.”

The Warriors anticipated this to be an extremely physical series, and Kerr believes they've done a good job of matching the Grizzlies' intensity. Saturday inside the Chase Center, the Warriors plan to do it again. This time they plan to leave with a victory.

Many say Game 3 is the most important game of a playoff series. Both teams desperately want the victory, but only the hungriest team will leave with it.
