Phoenix Suns center Aron Baynes ensured to check on the status of Stephen Curry following an odd three-man collision that caused the Golden State Warriors point guard to break his left hand on Thursday, according to head coach Steve Kerr.

Curry pushed the ball in transition and attempted to finish between Baynes and forward Kelly Oubre, losing his balance and awkwardly falling, as Baynes landed on top. Curry immediately grabbed his left wrist, a sign that he was in real pain after the fall.

The 31-year-old did not shoot the free throws he was awarded for the play, a sign he wouldn't return for the remainder of the game.

After a 121-110 Suns win, Baynes checked in on Curry's situation.

“Aron Baynes came up after the game and wanted to know how was Steph was doing. He felt really bad,” said head coach Steve Kerr after the game, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “Just a random basketball play. Stuff happens.”

Baynes had attempted to take a charge and fell after Curry bumped into him, losing his balance and landing over Curry, which could have compounded the injury. Nevertheless, it's merely the nature of basketball and there was no ill intention from the bruising center to injure him.

His disposition to check on Curry is a sign of respect and sportsmanship after noticing he had to be escorted out of the court for further imaging.

Curry will have a CT scan on Friday to determine whether the injury can be stabilized with a cast or if it requires surgery to repair multiple damaged structures.
