Steve Kerr says everyone on Warriors roster will be available vs. Grizzlies
Mark Medina of The Mercury News reports that Steve Kerr will have his entire unit available tomorrow, as they proceed to look unwilling to give up the top seed to the Denver Nuggets (currently 0.5 games back).
“You think about what these guys are doing night after night after night, taking everybody’s best shot, playing deep into June,” Kerr told The Associated Press. “It’s hard for anybody to understand what these guys go through physically, emotionally and spiritually just trying to defend the crown. The great thing about this team is they always bounce back because they have so much pride. What they have accomplished is just remarkable.”
The Warriors are finishing strong, bagging their 50th win of the season against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. Stephen Curry returned with a game-high 26 points, nine rebounds, and 3 assists on 9-of-19 shooting from the field after missing the Warriors’ previous matchup against the Dallas Mavericks.
“Nobody felt good about that, even the guys that didn’t play,” said Curry, who had played 49 straight games before Saturday’s night off. “You could see that sense of urgency, especially in the first quarter to set the tone and try to make the game as easy as possible on ourselves for 48 minutes.”
Curry also finished the night with a Plus-14 and sunk five shots from the perimeter.
Golden State’s final nine opponents, beginning with Memphis Wednesday, are all currently under .500 on the season. That said, it’s Curry and his star-studded legion’s No. 1 seed to lose with their current 50-23 record.
