Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was being grilled by reporters on emotions that were running high during the latest Dubs game, after Draymond Green and Kevin Durant had a late-game dust-up that resulted in a one-game suspension for Green for detrimental comments in the locker room.

Steve Kerr decided to inject some humor into the situation by making an eyebrow-raising claim about his most famous ex-teammate.

“When you play at a really high level and you're competitive, things happen. Every team that I've ever been on, things happen. By the way, I kicked MJ's ass.”

While Kerr delivered the line straightfaced, he couldn't help but grin as the reporters laughed at the ridiculous statement.

Steve Kerr was undeniably a valuable role player in his prime, winning a total of five championships as a player with the Chicago Bulls and the San Antonio Spurs. But Michael Jordan was known for his intense competitive spirit and ruthless playing style, and he never backed down to anybody on a basketball court. It's most likely a stretch to say that anybody “kicked Jordan's ass” while His Airness was in his prime.

Regardless, Kerr has bigger fish to fry at the moment. The team is embroiled in an internal beef between two of its best players and is missing another one as Stephen Curry recovers from a groin strain.
