The Golden State Warriors are the overwhelming favorite to repeat as champions as the season approaches, but Steve Kerr wants to take a different approach than previous years.

It seems like Kerr and the Warriors want their players to enjoy the moment because they know that change could be coming in the future. The squad is going for their third straight championship and fourth in five years with this core of players. Yes, Kevin Durant joined the team in 2016, but Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson have been the driving forces behind this dynasty for the last four seasons.

The summer of 2019 could bring serious change to the roster. Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are both set to be free agents. There's a very real possibility that one or both could skip town and look to build their legacy somewhere else. Durant knows many won't give him the credit he rightly deserves until he can win a championship somewhere else. Thompson, on the other hand, could want to become the go-to guy for another team and step out from behind Curry and Durant's shadows.

Additionally, Green is a free agent in a light 2020 class. There really is no telling what happens to this Golden State roster in the next few seasons.

That's why Kerr wants his team to enjoy this season and live in the moment. They are looking to make history and go down as one of the greatest teams in the history of the NBA. That's something they shouldn't take for granted.
