The Golden State Warriors will enter their final tune-up prior to the start of the season against the Sacramento Kings without three of their main five horses, as Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala will miss the game, according to Mark Medina of the San Jose Mercury News.

Durant will sit due to a virus while Green and Iguodala both battle back strains. The coaching staff will be ultimately cautious and play the remaining starters in limited minutes as the battle for the last open spot depends on this last preseason match-up.

The majority of the frontcourt minutes will be used to evaluate the availability of the last few minutes of the rotation for rookie Jordan Bell, as well as veteran forward David West, second-year center Damian Jones, and third-year forward Kevon Looney.

With all 15 guaranteed contracts already in the roster, the Warriors added Ohio State center Trevor Thompson, who will only have this game to battle against Georges Niang and Michael Gbinije for the last remaining two-way contract opening, joining Chris Boucher, who was the first one signed at the start of the offseason.

The Warriors have gone 1-2 in their three preseason games, but have gotten the majority of their answers after a 142-110 rout of the Minnesota Timberwolves in China. The team will open the season on Tuesday, Oct. 17 as part of a doubleheader against the new-look Houston Rockets.
