Despite suffering an ACL tear during the 2019 NBA Finals, Golden State Warriors All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson has been a visible part of his team's season.

Now, his teammates get to watch Thompson's jersey retired by his alma mater Washington State.

The Warriors paid tribute to the three-time NBA champion on Friday before Thompson's jersey retirement ceremony in this weekend's Cougars game.

Golden State selected Thompson with the 11th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Prior to his professional career, Thompson spent three seasons with the Washington State Cougars, averaging 21.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in his junior season before electing to declare for the draft.

Thompson also shot 39.0 percent from downtown in his three years in Pullman, Washington.

While the Warriors sharpshooter likely takes the entire season off in order to rehabilitate from the ACL injury, he still gets to appreciate special moments reflecting on his already-storied basketball career.

In his eight-year NBA career so far, Klay Thompson has already established himself as one of the greatest shooters of all time. In 615 contests for the Dubs, he has averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from beyond the arc.
