It was a bloody Sunday for Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards, as they fell to the Boston Celtics 111-110.

Thanks to a clutch bucket from All-Star starter Jayson Tatum, the Celtics' ultimately ruined another huge scoring night from Beal who ended up with an impressive 46-point game for the Wizards.

This outing adds to Beal's woeful losing streak when dropping a 40-piece. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Beal has now extended his streak to 11 straight defeats when he scores 40, which makes it the longest streak in NBA history.

However, the embarrassing numbers don't stop there. Again according to ESPN, Beal has now the worst record of all the 95 players in NBA history to have at least 10 40-point games in their respective careers. The Wizards All-Star is now 6-20 (.231) when he scores at least 40. Yikes

That being said, if Wizards head coach Scott Brooks just plays the odds, then it's actually quite simple. Just don't let Beal score 40 or more and your winning chances increase. Right?

Unfortunately, it isn't as simple as this. With John Wall departing DC, the heavy lifting is now on Beal. Former MVP Russell Westbrook isn't a huge scoring option and other young stars like Deni Avdija and Rui Hachimura have yet to really click offensively. The Wizards might get a 20-point evening from swingman David Bertans from time to time (which he did end up doing against the C's) but still, Beal dropping 30-plus points has been the MO for Washington all season long.

To be fair to the Wizards, they've actually been on a decent streak these past few weeks. They've won seven of their last nine games and are slowly inching their way to a .500 record.
