Following a pair of losses, the Minnesota Timberwolves have put together back-to-back wins. Both victories can be attributed to the team’s growing maturity, but it can also be courtesy of the great showing of Andrew Wiggins, who’s starting to wake up from his downtrending season.

Wiggins is averaging 34.5 points per game on 55.1-percent shooting in his last two games, and for teammate Karl-Anthony Towns, the 40-point output against the L.A. Clippers Monday night was impressive.

Towns compared Wiggins to former Lakers legend Kobe Bryant playing at Staples Center:

“It was amazing. I don’t know if I put the voodoo on him, but I told him he was going to get 40 tonight. So he made me look good. I’m happy for him. He was out there playing spirited basketball and he was playing at a high level all night. It seemed like we were out in Staples Center watching young Kobe tonight.”

It was Wiggins' season-high, and easily the most comfortable he has looked all year. His stroke was a big part of his production, but aside from his usual isolation plays, he was also moving well without the ball, and getting scores off putbacks and cuts to the basket.

As the Wolves move forward, we should see Wiggins have a couple of more high-scoring nights, especially now that Jimmy Butler is day-to-day due to a sore right knee. KAT wouldn't need any type of voo doo to witness his teammate become a “young Kobe” on the court.
