Heading into Clash at the Castle, one of the biggest questions surrounding the show regarded Chad Gable, the leader of Alpha Academy and Sami Zayn‘s challenger for the Intercontinental Championship.

Would this match effectively serve as a farewell to the “Master,” handing him an L on his way out of the door? Or would Gable use his contractual leverage to land the biggest win of his wrestling career, even if it costs him his relationship with Otis, Maxxine Dupri, and Akira Tozawa in the process?

Well, while every fan in the arena, let alone watching from home, certainly won't know it, Gable has tipped his hand ever so slightly regarding his future fate, as, in an appearance on Gorilla Position, the leader of Alpha Academy let it be known that he has officially re-signed with WWE and is excited about the prospects of working under Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

“Yes, I have. What I'll say, regarding Triple H. When he got started with us and took over. I think you saw my trajectory change almost immediately. Even when I was in a tag team with Otis, I started getting singles matches with some of our top guys,” Chad Gable explained via WrestleTalk. “To me, a light bulb went off, ‘things might be different now,' and they have been ever since. He's delivered on everything he's ever told me. When I first came to him, and me and Otis were floundering and not doing much, he said what he was doing was trying to find consistent places on TV for everybody every week. Whether it was a little chunk of TV or a big one; everyone should be involved at some point. At the time, I was like, ‘I've heard all this before,' and it gets to you, but I saw it was true, and it was delivered. Even if we only had a minute or two every week, we were getting it, and we were involved in something and maximizing our minutes. The fact that he delivers on what he says, it has gone a long way with someone like me. Now, that's paying off, and I'm having the run of my life, and I'm having a blast.”

On paper, would it have been cool for Gable to announce his signing after securing the win at Clash at the Castle as part of the post-show media session? Yes, keeping that fact a mystery would have made for a much more interesting bout between the “Master” and the “Underdog from the Underground.” Still, even if fans know that Gable isn't leaving, that doesn't truly signify which direction the promotion is going to go one way or another.

Sami Zayn expects big things with Chad Gable at Clash at the Castle.

Turning the page from Chad Gable to his Clash at the Castle foe Sami Zayn, the “Underdog from the Underground” stopped by Fightful to have a pre-show interview with Sean Ross Sapp and let it be known that he's looking forward to his match in Glasgow, Scotland, as whenever he gets into the ring with the “Master,” something interesting is bound to happen.

“That’s my favorite thing in the whole world; getting people hooked on a ride like this and not knowing what’s next and wanting to see how a story is going to unfold. It’s the most addictive and amazing thing,” Sami Zayn explained to Fightful. “I’ve been wrestling for a long time, but I love it so much, and I love this aspect of it that you don’t get to do, even in WWE, you’re lucky to get to do a good storyline that has people on the edge of their seat with what is going to happen next and when it’s going to happen. I’m sure something consequential is going to happen this Saturday. It feels like it’s at a boiling point. What it is? We’ll have to watch and see.”

Is “something interesting” like Zayn improbably retaining because Otis and company refuse to help Gable secure the win? Or is it more like Gable securing the win with the help of the Creed Brothers, who do the job when Alpha Academy hesitates to get the deal done? Either way, as Sami said, this feud has been approaching its boiling point for quite some time now and when the match finally gets underway, something massive is going to happen. What, you may ask, will that be? Well, as Zayn said, you'll have to tune in to Clash at the Castle to find out.
