Talk about a “Stone Cold” start to Wrestlemania! WWE fans were in for a treat when the legendary Steve Austin showed up to Wrestlemania 38. The superstar barged into Kevin Owens’ show and prompted a No Holds Barred matchup against the current wrestling star. It was one hell of a nostalgia trip for fans who grew up in the WWF era.

The match went as most WWE fans thought it would: with Owens seemingly dominating the older Austin. The No Holds Barred nature of their match turned it into a brutal slugfest, as both parties didn’t hold back in the match. However, Steve Austin would pull off a Wrestlemania miracle and hit Owens with a Stone Cold Stunner to win the match.

Steve Austin is one of the WWE’s greatest wrestlers of all-time. With his “Stone Cold” moniker, the Texas native was equal parts charismatic and fierce inside the ring. In his prime, he was able to compete in some legendary matches. Austin would make sporadic appearances over the years in the WWE. Austin’s comeback win happening in front of his home crowd makes this moment all the more perfect.

It will be difficult for the WWE to top off this already insane first day of Wrestlemania action. Austin isn’t the only wrestling to come back to the ring: fan favorite Cody Rhodes also made a triumphant return against superstar Seth Rollins. However, we’ve always seen the WWE make amazing moment after amazing moment. We’ll see what other shenanigans they pull off tomorrow.
