I remember years ago when people would talk about Stone Cold Steve Austin returning to the ring, and it was just a fantasy. Now, we talk about Steve Austin returning like it's normal.

After Steve Austin's performance at last year's WrestleMania, fans have been begging him to step back into the ring. Let's be honest: Stone Cold looked pretty damn good at WrestleMania, and he didn't miss a step for somebody who hadn't wrestled in nearly 20 years. Since then, the door has opened for potential fantasy matches that we never thought would be possible.

Rumors have been circulating that WWE offered Austin a “huge money offer” for a major match with Roman Reigns. What better way to set up a dream match between Stone Cold and The Tribal Chief than Austin winning his fourth Royal Rumble in his home state of Texas? This entire concept sounds crazy, but there's a legitimate chance this will happen.

The idea of Steve Austin returning for another match is crazy, but having him win the Royal Rumble and main event at WrestleMania for the second year in a row? That's pure insanity. I love Steve Austin as much as the next guy. I think he is wrestling's GOAT and would love to see him wrestle again at this year's Wrestlemania. But it shouldn't be against Roman Reigns.

Roman Reigns and The Bloodline have been the highlight of WWE for two years. Reigns is in the midst of the most historic championship reign in wrestling since the Hulk Hogan days. A handful of wrestlers could dethrone Reigns at this year's WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes, The Rock, and Sami Zayn are the first three names that come to mind. Having Reigns face one, or even two, of these three men would make sense based on The Bloodline's current storyline.

Cody Rhodes can return and win the Royal Rumble match and the WWE Championship in honor of his father. The Rock can return to challenge Reigns for the championship and the right to be called The Tribal Chief. Sami Zayn can either turn on The Bloodline, or The Bloodline turns on him, setting up a match at WrestleMania, or win the Royal Rumble instead.

Stone Cold Steve Austin has nothing to do with The Bloodline and their current storyline. I think it would be a fantastic idea for Austin to return at the Rumble, but not win the match. The Royal Rumble is in his home state of Texas, and the pop he'd get would arguably be the loudest of the night. By doing this, you get the reaction from the crowd and can set up a future match at WrestleMania. This can be with somebody who eliminates him from the match or something along those lines.

This would be awful for other wrestlers if Steve Austin did come back and win the Royal Rumble match. This would be terrible for Cody Rhodes, who has been the favorite to win the match for some time. With so much uncertainty about whether The Rock is returning or not, Rhodes has always been the most reliable pick to win the match. Austin returning and winning would take all the spotlight away from Rhodes and be a terrible look for the company. As cool as it would be seeing Austin win, it would prove that WWE hasn't changed when it comes to bringing back legends to take the spotlight away from guys on television weekly. It would be a great moment at the time, but overall, it's a bad idea.

If WWE wants to run a Stone Cold/Roman Reigns program down the line, they should do it at a Saudi Arabia show or SummerSlam. They need more time to build up the match and the feud itself. Throwing Steve Austin into the mix for a WrestleMania match out of nowhere makes no sense from a storyline standpoint. We all know the type of world championship matches that are held in Saudi Arabia. If WWE wants to do some fantasy booking, Saudi Arabia is the place to do it.

I'm all for a Stone Cold Steve Austin return to WWE. I'd pop if I heard the broken glass theme song come on this Saturday. I'd love to see Austin wrestle again at WrestleMania, but I don't want him to win the Royal Rumble match. There are a million ways the WWE can set up a Stone Cold/Roman Reigns feud, and Austin winning the Royal Rumble over somebody else who deserves it is not the way to go. Don't mess this up, Triple H.
