The Austin Theory mega-push is officially underway. After months of building him up, the WWE all but announced their intentions for the former EVOLVE champion in the 2022 Money in the Bank. After slotting him in as a surprise addition to the MITB Ladder Match, Theory beat out stars like Seth Rollins, Sheamus, and Riddle for a guaranteed shot at the Universal Title.

For now, though, it seems like Austin Theory has his sights on a different person: John Cena. The two WWE stars have been exchanging barbs on air and on social media in the last few months. After his momentous Money in the Bank win, Theory grabbed the mic and cut an off-air promo in front of audience, again directed at Cena. (via WrestlingINC.com)

Love him or hate him, Theory is one of the best heat magnets in the WWE today. His ability to make the crowd turn on him with just a few words is incredible. Having him go on a collision course with one of the best babyfaces in the company's history will surely skyrocket his popularity and boost him to the top of the food chain.

The current rumblings surrounding the Cena-Theory rivalry is that the WWE is set to book them for a SummerSlam match. That seems to be the best play for Theory right now. Of course, though, there's always the possibility that Theory cashes in his MITB contract on Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.

Either way, we're going to be getting a big serving of Austin Theory in the coming weeks. This is going to be fun.
