“Go away heat” is a funny thing in the WWE Universe. If a wrestler is undeservedly pushed, does a terrible job in the ring, or somehow embarrasses his or herself on WWE Programming, many a fan will not forget and ensure that their reputation is forever stained by their poor performance.

While there have been plenty of examples of wrestlers that left with go away heat only to be given a hero’s welcome, as any modern-day John Cena appearance is completely devoid of the half boos-half cheers that often met him in the past, one wrestler who will seemingly never be welcomed back with open arms is Ryback, and all it takes is one look to Twitter to see why.

Ryback, who was with WWE from 2004-2016, may have been on your Twitter trending page today, thus bringing all of the negative opinions back to the surface. Take this tweet from Just Talk Wrestling, which asked about which wrestler got the most undeserved push between Ryback, Mr. Kennedy, and current Money in the Bank contract holder Theory.

While there was a spread of opinions on the matter, even a few Ryback supporters, Ryback was certainly named plenty of times.

Of course, there are plenty of reasons why The Big Guy has earned a bad reputation with fans. He was indeed pushed far beyond his ability, though he only ever won one belt in the Intercontinental Championship, being booked like Goldberg made it very easy to call him a cheap imitation, and multiple wrestlers including CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler have been hurt by his stiff in-ring work

Though perhaps now, years after he last wrestled for WWE, he is more known for controversial Twitter rants, keeping the wrestler fresh in people's minds when they use the app. Meanwhile, John Cena's comedic Instagram, movie roles, and meme status made people see him in a more positive light when he was away from the ring.

Maybe absence would make their hearts grow fonder.
