With the field set for the 2022 PGA Championship, the action at Southern Hills Country Club is set to tee off in just two days. Stars such as Tiger Woods and Masters champion Scottie Scheffler headline the field, with star Jon Rahm also entering the major as one of the favorites.

Another favorite, Jordan Spieth, who has won three major championships, seems to be flying a bit under the radar ahead of the event coming off of a strong finish at the AT&T Byron Nelson. Riding an up and down year, Spieth missed the cut at the Masters, but immediately won the RBC Heritage, showing the upside that remains a part of his game.

Spieth can win the PGA Championship and complete the elusive career slam- winning all four majors in a career- putting him in rare company with the likes of Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. Here's why.

2 Reasons Why Jordan Spieth Can Win The PGA Championship

2. Spieth has had some good finishes at the PGA Championship

In his career at the PGA Championship, Spieth has finished inside the top-five twice and tied for 30 or better four times. If not for his 2017 win at the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship would be considered perhaps his second-best tournament by results alone.

The conditions on the bentgrass greens of Southern Hills, which are likely to be firm and fast, figure to play to Spieth's strengths. While many golfers would theoretically like such a style, Spieth himself has specifically said that he prefers such conditions, as they allow him to be a bit more precise with his shot-making.

With a good track record at the PGA Championship and a hometown crowd cheering him on, Spieth will be propelled to victory at Southern Hills, making history in the process.

1. Spieth is on a roll heading into the tournament

In his two tournaments since the Masters, Spieth has finished first and second. He's been driving the ball really well, though he had some struggles with putting at the AT&T Bryon Nelson.

However, the level of play he has put forth recently will give him a lot of confidence heading into the PGA Championship. He'll be ranked inside the top-10 heading into a major for the first time since 2017, which, coincidentally, is the last time he secured a major.

Given how quickly he was able to shake off missing the cut at the Masters, it's safe to say that Spieth is in a good frame of mind entering play at Southern Hills. If he can combine better putting- such as his excellent work at the 2019 PGA Championship- with the way he's striking the ball currently, he'll be very tough to beat.

Motivated to finally complete the career grand slam, Spieth will keep the momentum going with a win at Southern Hills.
