Hitting is the name of the game on the Week 11 fantasy baseball waiver wire. If your team has been struggling with the bats, now is the perfect time to capitalize.

Oftentimes it's hard to see long-time pitching value on the waiver wire. Not only does so much change from start to start, but with numerous days between appearances a pitcher of the waiver wire does not always make an immediate impact. The same can't be said for player getting everyday at-bats in the field.

That continuity and longevity is where you find fantasy baseball waiver wire gold. Finding a hitter underlooked on draft day on waivers can be the difference between a win and loss. You get apt value while not having to use a draft pick on the pickup. And if they're in the middle of a hot streak, even better.

All four players on this list now find themselves in an opportunity to produce. Some have already proven they can handle the workload. Before any of your league mates catch on, Week 11 is the time to attack the fantasy baseball waiver wire and round your team out.

Every player on this list is owned in 20 percent or less of ESPN fantasy baseball leagues.

Matt Vierling, OF/3B – Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers have been treading water, going 5-5 over their last 10 games. But only four games out of the Wild Card hunt, the Tigers still want to compete. If Matt Vierling keeps hitting how he has, Detroit might just have a shot.

Over his last 11 games, Vierling is hitting .390 with four home runs and 13 RBI. He has moved his numbers for the year to a .292 batting average with seven home runs and 28 RBI. Vierling is only four long balls and 17 RBI away from setting new career-highs. Maybe he'll reach it over his next 11 games.

When he is in the lineup, Vierling is usually batting leadoff. If he isn't there, Detroit has him in the two or three hole. Batting at the top of the lineup will only give Vierling more opportunities to produce. Furthermore, having both outfield and third base eligibility is most fantasy baseball leagues only increases his value.

The Tigers still have a long road if they want to be true playoff contenders. But Vierling has been playing like a star and makes for a prime Week 11 pick up.

Nick Gonzales, 2B – Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates are another team hovering around .500 (27-31) looking to make some noise. In the midst of a youth renaissance, the Pirates have seemingly found their second baseman of the present and future in Nick Gonzales.

Over his 20 games in 2024, Gonzales is hitting .315 with three home runs, 16 RBI and two stolen bases. He has found his stride in recent times, as the infielder is hitting .372 with a home run, 10 RBI and a stolen base over his last 11 games.

It has been a stark improvement for Gonzales after he hit .209 with two home runs and 13 RBI over his first 35 MLB games in 2023. That growth has led the 25-year-old to be moved up to the middle of the lineup, usually fifth or sixth.

Due to his poor 2023 performance, Gonzales was certainly a player not many were looking at on draft day. But entering Week 11, he's one of the more intriguing players available on waivers.

Jake Meyers, OF – Houston Astros

The Houston Astros are still trying to dig themselves out of their early season hole. Still, their a franchise with obviously high expectations. Outfielder Jake Meyers is doing everything in his power to get the team back into prominence.

Meyers is hitting .281 with six home runs, 22 RBI and three stolen bases through 51 2024 games. While the outfielder was named the Opening Day center fielder, he has jockeyed for position at times. Injuries have held him out at others. But with the way he is hitting, Joe Espada has no reason to take him out of the lineup.

While Meyers' production could improve with a rise up the lineup, he still hits sixth in what should be a powerful force. It may not have all come together yet, but sharing a lineup with Joe Altuve and Alex Bregman is bound to offer fantasy baseball potential.

It's hard sometimes to find everyday starters off of the waiver wire. But Meyers gives players that opportunity while providing consistent value along the way.

Adam Duvall, OF – Atlanta Braves

Adam Duvall looks like an awkward anomaly when you compare his 2024 stats to the other hitters on this list. He's hitting .200 with five home runs and 14 RBI through 39 games. However, the opportunity he now finds himself in is too good to pass up.

Ronal Acuna Jr. has suffered a season-ending ACL injury. In his wake, the Braves to turned to Duvall to fill the hole in right field. In the first game without Acuna, Atlanta gave the start to Duvall and in turn he went yard.

Batting average won't be Duval's calling card, although he did hit a career-best .247 in 2023. However, the outfielder sill possess plenty of power in his bat. He had 21 home runs in 2023 and has blasted 189 over his career.

If your team is in need for power, there may be no better addition than Duvall. Now set for everyday playing time, he'll have the opportunity to hit 20+ home runs once more. Even without Acuna, Atlanta still has one of the scariest lineups in the league. With his new role, Week 11 could be the final time Duvall is available on the waiver wire in your league.
