The 2024 NFL Draft order is finally set, and there aren't a lot of changes at the top. While the New York Giants dropped from one spot down after beating the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 18, the Top 4 picks stayed the same. The Chicago Bears will still get the no. 1 pick (thanks to the Carolina Panthers), while the Washington Commanders, New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals select after them.

There are plenty of moves in the bottom half of the Top 10 selections, though. In fact, from the Week 17 draft order, only the Tennessee Titans remained in a similar position. The Los Angeles Chargers cracked the Top 5 as the Giants fell to no. 6, with the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears moving up as well.

Sure enough, the Bears' pick didn't come as a surprise. With the Panthers recording just two wins during the 2023 season, and the closest to them being the 4-13 New England Patriots, Washington Commanders and Arizona Cardinals, there was never any doubt that the Bears would be getting that top pick.

Now, the Bears head to the offseason and the NFL Draft with two lottery picks. Their next selection is at no. 9. It will definitely be interesting to see what the Windy City franchise does, especially since they already have a young and promising quarterback in Justin Fields. Will they move on from their QB and draft Caleb Williams no. 1 overall? Will they take a different player with the top pick (Marvin Harrison Jr. maybe?) or trade down once again in hopes of getting more assets to continue building around Field?

The Patriots' situation is also an intriguing one. With the no. 3 pick, they are in the conversation once again to take a quarterback from a really talented 2024 class. Mac Jones' time with the team is likely over, though they still have Bailey Zappe who is ready to compete for the QB1 job if given the chance. Before that, though, Robert Kraft will first need to make a decision on Bill Belichick and the coach's future with the team.

By the time the NFL Draft happens, fans will get to see if it's Belichick who's going to make the draft choice or someone else. Regardless, the Patriots have a chance to take one of the better quarterbacks in the class. If Williams ends up getting taken earlier, they can still take UNC's Drake Maye or LSU's Jayden Daniels.

As for the Commanders, they are also expected to be in the hunt for that franchise quarterback as they look to further rebuild in the Josh Harris ownership era. They were able to secure the second pick via the strength of schedule tiebreakers, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Sure enough, after a rather disastrous season, they really needed that positive outcome.

The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled to start on April 25 at Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaze in Detroit. After the Round 1 in the first day, Rounds 2 and 3 will continue on April 26, and the closing Rounds 4 to 7 on April 27. Broadcast is set on ESPN and ABC.
