The Green Bay Packers decided to go defense with their first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft at No. 29 overall. Eric Stokes was the pick, which surprised quite a few fans following the drama and rumors surrounding Aaron Rodgers. Many thought Green Bay would take a long look at a wide receiver to help please their MVP quarterback, but that was not the case.

Despite the fact that they chose not to go with a wideout in the first round, there is still an opportunity for the Packers to get one in the next few rounds. This draft was loaded with wide receiver talent and no one should be panicking.

Granted, the Packers may not have interest in drafting a wideout early in this draft. They already have Davante Adams, Devin Funchess, Allen Lazard, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling at the position. However, they could still take one due to the contract situations of the wide receiver room following the 2021 NFL season.

It will be interesting to see what the Packers end up doing throughout the rest of the NFL Draft. They still need to add some help on the offensive line and could also look to add a linebacker or defensive lineman. A wide receiver is far from their biggest need, but it would not be shocking to see them target one.

All of that being said, let's take a look at the three best wide receiver targets for the Packers after taking Stokes with their first-round pick.

3. Rondale Moore, Purdue

Moore is by far the best potential wideout that the Packers could take a look at adding on day two of the NFL Draft. The reason that he comes in third on this list is due to the fact that Green Bay would have to trade up in the second-round to get him.

At this point in time, Moore is projected to be taken in the early or middle stages of the second round. If that does end up being the case, it seems unlikely that the Packers will get him. They could trade up, but Brian Gutekunst knows that the franchise has other needs that have to be addressed and giving up extra draft capital may not be on the agenda.

The Purdue star would be a perfect fit for Green Bay in the slot. He would bring a ton of speed and playmaking potential to the offense, which would be a major plus for the Packers and was what they were missing last year. If they can get him, it would be a huge addition that could take their offense to the next level.

2. Amari Rodgers, Clemson

Next up, we'll take a look at a wide receiver who could be an option for the Packers in the third round. Amari Rodgers put together a huge 2020 season for Clemson and has been connected to Green Bay throughout the pre-draft process. In fact, he said himself that a dream scenario would be being drafted by the Packers.

Rodgers caught 77 passes for 1,020 yards and seven touchdowns last season for the Tigers. He is a great possession wideout, but can also make plays down the field. If the Packers want a talented wideout in round three, they may have to trade up in the round to get him, but he would be able to make an instant impact.

This would be a quality option for the team and the selection would have to make Aaron Rodgers happy. Amari Rodgers is the kind of talent that Green Bay could use long-term alongside Adams and they would be able to focus on another area of need in the second round.

1. D'Wayne Eskridge, Western Michigan

Finally, there is a target that is projected to be available around the area of the Packers' second-round pick at No. 62 overall. That prospect would be Western Michigan standout D'Wayne Eskridge. He is a player that Green Bay likely has their eyes on.

Standing in at 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, Eskridge could play the slot for the Packers as well. He would also be able to come in and give Rodgers the kind of deep threat that he has been needing.

Last season with the Broncos, Eskridge caught 34 passes for 784 yards and eight touchdowns, which averages out to an impressive 23.1 yards per reception. Eskridge would be a worthy pick for the Packers at No. 62 if he is available and might be worth a minor trade up if they want a wideout. This is an option that fans should keep an eye out for on the second night of the 2021 NFL Draft.
