The Chicago Bulls are going to have some interesting decisions to make at the NBA trade deadline because they have certainly exceeded expectations. They're currently the number one seed in the Eastern Conference as they sit at an impressive 25-10 and have a two-game lead in front of the defending Champion Milwaukee Bucks and the star-powered Brooklyn Nets.

Not many people expected the Bulls to play as well as they have, besides their fans and players because they certainly knew the type of talent that they have on the roster. They have been nothing short of impressive this season but there are still some question marks about their team and if they are going to be able to compete with some of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

The reason there are still some questions about this Bulls team is that they desperately need somebody who can defend the rim and get rebounds. If you're going to win the Eastern Conference, the chances are you're going to have to take on the Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo. There's nobody in the world who's better at getting to the rim than him. If the Bulls do not pick up somebody who can at least attempt to contain Giannis and make it tough on him, they probably will not beat this Bucks team.

Let's take a look at three players the Bulls should think about trading in order to get back somebody who can come in and defend at a high level at that 4-5 positions.

Bulls NBA Trade Deadline

3.  Coby White

Coby White is going to be an interesting name at the NBA trade deadline because the Bulls clearly do need to go out and get somebody and he might be their best option to move since he is still only 21 years old. Chicago will have a tough decision on their hand. In the last few weeks, he has been playing excellent basketball including a few 20-point games.

At the beginning of the season, he was not playing as great as many of the Bulls fans and front-office were hoping for, but he has turned it around since Alex Caruso and Lonzo Ball are not on the court due to being out with injuries and the protocols.

The Bulls have to realize that Coby White is a good player and might not necessarily fit in the role that their team needs because they are so loaded at that guard position. They have areas they are going to need to improve on and there's nothing better than having a 21-year-old for you to move. Many rebuilding teams are going to be looking for a young player who they think can come in and make an impact to help speed up their own rebuild process and he is the best possible player for that from the Bulls roster.

2. Matt Thomas

Although Matt Thomas isn't necessarily going to get back any sort of return at that the Bulls are hoping for it, he could be thrown in as a filler in a trade to help with salaries.

He doesn't really do much for this Bulls team, and quite frankly, there's really no reason for him to still be on the team. He's only averaging three points in only 10.4 minutes this season. When Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso return, his minutes are going to be even less than they already are. He has hit some big shots for the Bulls in the past few games, but that doesn't necessarily mean much as he is still only shooting 33% from the field and 34% from 3-point range.
He doesn't do much to help this team and it wouldn't be shocking if the Bulls do decide to part ways with Matt Thomas.

Unfortunately for Chicago, he isn't going to get much of a return but at least they could still be used as a trade filler to help match a salary.

1. Patrick Williams

This is going to be another interesting one because this kid is a pretty good player. He doesn't necessarily do anything great, but he is a good pro and certainly somebody who could have helped the Bulls a bit this season. He is a forward but he is a bit undersized so the Bulls might decide to part ways with him because they do need somebody to fill that four to five positions who has height.

The best part about Patrick Williams is that he is still only 20 years old and many contending teams and rebuilding teams are always looking to get some young guys on their roster so he could potentially be the best option for the Bulls to move outside of Coby White.

It'll be interesting to see what the Bulls do with Patrick Williams because he was their first-round pick in the 2020 draft with the fourth overall pick. He hasn't played for the Bulls for quite some time now due to undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left wrist. Some other teams might worry about his health, but if the Bulls can move him since they are in a win-now situation, it would make a lot of sense.
