The Baltimore Ravens shut down the Denver Broncos on Sunday. It was a one-sided affair, as Baltimore proved to be the better team. Denver struggled to keep up after Teddy Bridgwater fell to injury. It's time to continue our NFL takeaways series with a Ravens Week 4 takeaway.

This game got ugly quickly as the Ravens defense kept the Broncos from moving downfield. It was a big game for Baltimore as the win progressed them to a 3-1 record keeping them tied for first in the AFC North. It was an impressive performance all-around for the Ravens as they prevented the Broncos from doing anything.

One thing is abundantly clear. The Ravens are in dire need of a running back. With the trade deadline quickly approaching, Baltimore's front office should be searching for a new starter. Meanwhile, the passing game has stepped up in a big way. Marquise Brown is playing like an elite receiver while Lamar Jackson has been slinging it. With that said, here are three Ravens Week 4 takeaways from their matchup against the Broncos.

Ravens Week 4 Takeaways

3. Ravens need to trade for a running back

This franchise is missing the likes of JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards right now. The Ravens have been a top-rushing offense for quite some time now, but are struggling in that department this season. Ty'Son Williams was benched after looking decent in his first two games. Latavius Murray, Le'Veon Bell, and Devonta Freeman are all on the wrong side of their careers.

If Baltimore hopes to improve the run game, they should consider making a trade soon. There are a couple of intriguing options for the Ravens to consider. Ronald Jones would be a perfect fit for this franchise as he's a starting-caliber running back lost in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers backfield. Another option could be Miles Sanders, as the Philadelphia Eagles seem to be writing him out of the game plan every week.

Either way, Jones and Sanders would elevate the Ravens rush attack, making them a more dangerous team. We'll see what happens, as the team might want to keep their draft picks over acquiring another running back to the roster.

2. Marquise Brown is on a new level

He had a slow start to his career but Marquise Brown has looked phenomenal to start the 2021 season. The Ravens have had to air it out more frequently due to their struggling run game. Brown has been the main beneficiary and looks like the first-round selection the Ravens knew he could be. Look for Hollywood Brown to maintain consistency even when Rashod Bateman eventually returns.

1. Lamar Jackson is an elite passer

Somehow Lamar Jackson's passing abilities are still being slept on. He's looked like a superstar quarterback so far and that shouldn't change at all. No one can replicate what Jackson does in the pocket and now he's airing it out for the Ravens.

This is exactly what Baltimore needed from him. Lamar Jackson is bound to keep improving as the wide receiver core gets a major boost with the return of Rashod Bateman. The AFC North should be on high alert, as the Ravens are shaping up to be the best team in the division.
