The San Francisco 49ers quarterback battle continues on in their final preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has confused everybody, and even more so after the beginning of Sunday's game.
With both Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance fighting for the job all preseason, Shanahan surprisingly rotated them in and out.
The #49ers are rotating Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance at QB in their final preseason game. Garoppolo has played 14 snaps. Lance has 10 snaps. Both QBs have a rushing TD. They keep on subbing in and out. It's quite the scene.

Through the first half of Sunday's game, Garoppolo went 4-7 for 64 yards and Lance went 6-9 for 46 yards. Neither 49ers' quarterback tossed a touchdown, but they each ran in for a score.

Lance followed suit as well and showcases his impressive running once again in an effort to sway Shanahan's choice in the direction of the former North Dakota State star.

What Shanahan is going to do for Week 1 remains to be seen, although it looks as if Garoppolo is the starter. Nonetheless, his confusing rotation could be a concern if he dares to attempt that when the season kicks off.
Could the 49ers actually go with a weird quarterback rotation during the regular season? Don't put it past Shanahan and company, although that certainly wouldn't go over well with many San Francisco fans.
The 49ers regular season begins on September 12 against the Detroit Lions on the road.
