Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum has enjoyed herself quite the week. After being named the 2022 WNBA All-Star MVP, Plum was rewarded even further by the Aces, who announced the decision to sign the 27-year-old to a brand new contract extension. The extension will reportedly keep Plum in Las Vegas for another two seasons. It was a crucial move considering she was set for free agency during the offseason.

According to Spotrac, Plum is currently the third-highest earner on the Aces, making $180,000 annually. That trails only A'ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray for the highest salary on the team. It's unclear if she got a significant pay raise with her two-year extension, but she'll now be under contract through the 2024 season.

“I’m thrilled to remain with the Aces, and continue playing with my teammates and for our coaching staff,” said Plum in a statement from the team. “I look forward to persisting in our journey to delivering a championship to Las Vegas.”

Plum has enjoyed a breakouts season for the Aces, racking up 20.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and shooting a remarkably efficient 42.2% from 3-point territory. Her numbers across the board represent career highs for the 27-year-old, who has started all 24 games she's played in and made her first-ever All-Star appearance.

It was a no-brainer for the Aces to extend Plum's stay in Las Vegas. She's been a key part of the team's dominance in the Western Conference, helping the team reach an 18-7 record through 25 games. Apart from the Seattle Storm (16-9), no other team is within 7.0 games of the Aces.

After losing her role as a starter in 2021, Plum was determined to prove she had an important role to play in Las Vegas, and has done just that in 2022, culminating in her new contract extension.
