The Las Vegas Aces take on the Chicago Sky. Our WNBA odds series has our Aces Sky prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Aces Sky.

The Chicago Sky were getting clobbered by Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever midway through the third quarter of this past Sunday's WNBA game in Chicago. The Fever led 71-57 and looked like they were going to cruise to yet another win over Chicago. Indiana had beaten the Sky two previous times this season, both in Indiana and both in close games. This game was shaping up to be a Fever runaway on the Sky's home floor. However, as flawed as this Chicago team might be, say one thing about the Sky: They don't quit. They always put up a fight. Chicago roared back down the stretch and stunned the Fever in an 88-87 thriller. The three-day break for the Commissioner's Cup final became a time for the Sky to appreciate what they achieved, rather than a time to lament what they were unable to do. That comeback has a chance to become a pivot point in the Sky's season. It noticeably changed the nature of the playoff race, with the Sky gaining a game on the Fever in the battle for the eighth and final playoff spot in the WNBA. Let's see if the Sky can gain momentum from that win by taking down the defending champion Las Vegas Aces in the restart of the season.

It won't be easy.

The Aces, if you haven't noticed, look like a championship-quality team again, now that Chelsea Gray is back on the floor and powering this team's loaded backcourt. Gray might not yet be 100 percent, but merely having her back in the lineup has clearly invigorated this team, which knows exactly what it takes to win WNBA championships and has the confidence of a group which has run the race and lifted trophies in recent years. The stumbles of the first several weeks of the season are no longer occurring. The Aces are dispatching quality opponents, such as the Connecticut Sun and Seattle Storm, in decisive fashion. This is the team we are used to watching. Becky Hammon is putting the pieces together once again. No one wants to face the Aces right now.

Why The Aces Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Aces are a complete team once again, with Chelsea Gray back on the court. Her absence clearly mattered in the team's sputtering first month of play. You can very readily see the difference in this Vegas roster with Gray in the lineup, even if she isn't at 100 percent. Vegas has its bite back. The Aces easily outclassed the Sun and Storm, two good teams who — while not as good as the New York Liberty or the Minnesota Lynx, which have shown even more quality in the first month and a half of the WNBA season — are formidable and figure to be contenders for the league semifinals later this summer. Vegas is still a middle-of-the-pack team in the standings, but the Aces look like a team ready to return to the top of the W and are intent on making up ground. It's hard to see how the Sky will have answers for the champions.

Why The Sky Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Sky have to be really confident about their abilities and their overall improvement as a team after they fought back and defeated Caitlin Clark and the Fever on Sunday. Chicago is a flawed team, but the Sky keep showing they are a tough out and will not make it easy for any opponent they play. That should be enough to cover a double-digit spread. It probably won't be enough to win outright, but covering seems like a reasonable ask.

Final Aces-Sky Prediction & Pick

The Aces will win the game, but 10.5 is a lot of points against a tenacious Chicago team which is rested and confident. Our official recommendation: Pass. Wait for a live play.
