After watching Darby Allin make his triumphant return to Dynamite to provide some much-needed support for Team AEW ahead of their match with The Elite at Double or Nothing, Bryan Danielson decided to address the crowd at the Angel Of The Winds Arena in Everett, Washington, running through how his home state has impacted his professional wrestling career up to this point before putting over the newest member of his Anarchy in the Arena group.

“It’s great to be home. You guys have given me some incredible moments in my career. You guys are the reason I main-evented WrestleMania. The very last show that my dad came to before he passed away, you guys made him feel like his son was a star. When I was forced to retire, you guys were there with him. You guys laughed with me, you guys cheered for me, you guys cried with me. For that, I will always be grateful,” Bryan Danielson said to the crowd in Washington via Fightful.

“Then this past October, at WrestleDream, you guys came and were the best crowd I’ve ever seen for a technical wrestling match. That warmed my heart. So I feel like, for a long time, I have been your Washington state guy. But ladies and gentlemen, I’ve seen somebody who’s done things that I could never even dream of. I think, when I’m gone, you guys have a new Washington state guy. I’m gonna be in the crowd chanting ‘Darby’ with you guys because this guy [points to Darby], he’s the f**king man.”

While Danielson has wrestled incredible matches all over the world, from Japan, to Mexico, Europe, and even multiple WrestleMania main events stateside, it's clear Washington still holds a special place in his heart, so much so that he's suggested that the Evergreen State could be the sight of his final match as a full-time wrestler this fall at WrestleDream should TK once again book it at the Tacoma Dome where he saw his first-ever wrestling show. Still, before that day comes, Danielson has work to do, and the first thing on the list is beating up The Elite at Double or Nothing without suffering an injury that leaves him out of action for Forbidden Door, All In, and All Out.

Darby Allin explains why he's joining Bryan Danielson and FTR at DON.

So why, you may wonder, is Darby Allin back in AEW when he said that he wouldn't be cleared until June from his broken foot? Well part of it surely has to do with Eddie Kingston suffering his own leg injury at New Japan Pro Wrestling Resurgence, as it's hard to imagine this is some sort of a swerve. Still, it also has to do with fighting for the honor and integrity of AEW, even if he has to do it at less than 100 percent.

Discussing his choice to join Team AEW in a special digital exclusive segment on AEW's YouTube channel, Allin explained why Anarchy in the Arena is important to him, even if he might just have to go to the hospital due to an injury suffered at the end of Dynamite.

“What a f**king crazy few months. Holy s**t, I thought the worst happened when I broke my foot. Then I was in New York and got hit by a f**king bus. As you can see, I’m not 100%. I still have a little bit of a limp, I got a nose brace on. But f**k, I am going to Anarchy in the Arena because I want to defend AEW’s honor,” Darby Allin exclaimed via Fightful. “Like I said, I’m not 100%. Jesus, when [Dax] just did that suplex, I was sitting criss-cross applesauce, and a f**king beam hit me in the head. I thought I got knocked out. I was like, ‘There goes my return.' I’m not gonna keep you here for long because there’s some more bada** action to come. I gotta go to the hospital or something. I’ll talk to you guys later.”

Would it have been better for Tony Khan, Kenny Omega, and company to have selected a more wrestling-ready participant for Anarchy in the Arena than Allin, a man still recovering from a broken foot, a broken nose, and whatever bumps and bruises came from his interaction with The Elite at the end of Dynamite? Maybe so. Claudio Castagnoli is still a member of the BCC, and while he doesn't like Eddie Kingston, he has no issue with FTR. Still, when it comes to doing crazy spots in a Street Fight-style match, few can do it better than Allin, as he will do all sorts of wild and crazy actions just for fun without being paid or having it filmed; imagine what he'll do when the cameras are rolling.
