Wardlow is on a roll in AEW.

Since being released from the clutches of MJF, the newly signed big man has become a babyface, a fan favorite, and… oh yeah, the TNT Champion, having dethroned Scorpio Sky in a Rochester Streetfight despite the best efforts of the American Top Team faction.

Surely things are looking good for the old “Wardog” but with great power comes great responsibility and before too long, he'll have to return to the ring once more to test his mettle and keep the belt around his waist long-term. But who will he wrestle? Will it be someone like The Butcher? Or how about Brody King, fresh off his loss to Jon Moxley and absolute beatdown of Darby Allin at an autograph signing?

What if I were to tell you the answer is neither of the above but instead Orange Cassidy? Sounds wild right, as OC is also on a roll following his successful match with Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door, the return of “Jane” and his wins over Ethan Page and Tony Nese – why would Tony Khan put those two together and risk taking the shine off of one of their come ups?

Well, ask TK, because it's official for Fyter Fest.

So… where does the promotion go from there? Is OC so bulletproof that he can survive another high-profile loss to a hot-shot performer with an upper-mid card belt? Or will Wardlow have the shortest title reign in the promotion's history? Either way, unless an outside force affects the results of this match, someone is going to come out of the AEW match looking worse than they did going in.
