Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban is as polarizing a college football coach as there is. Winning, and doing so a lot, will certainly do that for any person. Undeniably, he is one of the most successful college coaches of all-time.

All of that being said, even Nick Saban thinks Alabama might be overpaying him.

Saban was asked Wednesday by a national outlet, al.com reported, whether he was worth it. “Probably not,” the future Hall of Fame coach responded.

To be Camp Crystal Lake clear, Saban isn't complaining about the money. He just claims it isn't his decision how much loot he takes home.

“I don’t think it’s up to me to determine what the value is or what the market is for coaches, or what value I have created here for this institution and this place,” Saban said Wednesday. “I think those people made those decisions. We haven’t asked for anything. We’ve been treated extremely well here. We certainly appreciate it. I appreciate our administration. I appreciate our athletic administration for the way they’ve supported the program and helped us be successful, and I’ve been very thankful for what they’ve done for my family.”

There we have it. A man paid for his successes has never asked for anything at all. It has only been the Crimson Tide that have rewarded him.

Jokes aside, some fans feel uncomfortable when a place like Alabama pays someone like Nick Saban $11 million a year when the talent on the field only sees a free education.

For what it is worth, it isn't “free” when the student-athletes need to provide a service in order to get that education.
