After directing an episode of The Bear Season 3, Ayo Edebiri has been praised by her peers Jeremy Allen White and Liza Colón-Zayas.

Speaking to Variety at the premiere of The Bear Season 3, Ayo Edebiri reflected on the experience directing an episode. She called her episode the “peak of artistic collaboration.”

“I feel like I got a master class in acting from Liza [Colón-Zayas] and from the other actors who got to grace the screen,” she said. “I feel like I learned so much from our crew, from our camera department… just from everybody. It was really a blast and an honor to get to helm an episode that showcases everything that Liza can do.

“I mean, not even everything, like a fraction of the things that she can do. She's such a powerhouse,” Edebiri continued.

The aforementioned Colón-Zayas praised Edebiri as a director. “She's open, smart, and fearless,” Colón-Zayas praised. “So fearless that I was watching and putting ideas in my head like, ‘Why can't I just be so fearless and know that I could take chances like that.' [Edebiri] sailed through it.”

Similarly, Jeremy Allen White, who plays Carmen in the series praised Edebiri.

“She did a beautiful job — she was very confident. Everybody knows how smart she is. She's a beautiful actress and a very intuitive actress,” he said. “And I think she's a very beautiful and intuitive director as well.”

With a fourth season of The Bear coming, perhaps Edebiri could once again direct an episode. If she is receiving praise like this from her peers, they may have no choice but to ask her to return.
