The Chicago Bears are trying to find their next kicker, and it appears that they aren't very close to deciding who that will be. Teams have started to release their first depth chart of the seasons in advance of their first preseason game, and a close look at the Bears depth chart has one big surprise, there is not one first-string kicker.

At every position, there is one player listed at first string and another player listed at second string, but for the kicker, both Elliott Fry and Eddy Pineiro are listed as the first string.

Bears coach Matt Nagy has been asked many times this offseason what exactly the team's plan was for the kicker and who was leading and he has not given many indications.

It's unclear how Nagy is feeling about the kicking options, but having both guys as the first string right now has to be a bit concerning.

That means neither guy has pulled away from others, and they are going to have to earn the starting job during the preseason games. At this point, it seems that both Fry and Pineiro will get all four games of the preseason to prove that they deserve the job.

Hopefully, both guys can have some good performances during the games, and they will make it a tough decision. The kicker position cost the Bears a playoff win last year, and that isn't a path they want to go down again this upcoming season. This is a crucial battle of training camp and should have a keen eye kept on it.
