Lamar Miller has been searching for a new team in recent weeks, and he has finally found a new place to call home — for the time being. With Tarik Cohen going down with a knee injury, the Chicago Bears are signing Miller to their practice squad, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

During Chicago's comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3, Cohen suffered a knee injury that led to him being carted off the field. Unfortunately for the Bears, the running back was eventually diagnosed with a torn ACL that will keep him sidelined for the rest of the campaign.

As a result of Cohen's absence, the Bears have been searching the free-agent market for a running back that could add depth. Earlier this week, it was reported that Chicago brought in a slew of running backs for a workout, including Miller.

Seeing that the team is adding Miller, it can be assumed that they liked what they saw from the veteran rusher in his workout. However, Miller will begin his time with the Bears on the practice squad, essentially being an emergency option at the position.

More so than other seasons, fans have seen more teams sign experienced players to their practice squad due to the concerns surrounding COVID-19. Having a player that can fill in at any moment and is proven at his position can be beneficial.

Lamar Miller signed with the New England Patriots this past offseason after he recovered from a torn ACL in 2019 with the Houston Texans. Even though things didn't pan out in New England, Miller is hoping to find a way to contribute in the Windy City.
