Chicago Bears star Khalil Mack has already cemented his place as one of the best defensive players in football.

The 29-year-old has been named First-Team All-Pro three times in addition to winning Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. Mack was also named to the All-Decade team by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

But as good as Mack has been in the NFL, he was an all-world kind of talent at the University of Buffalo.

Former teammates and coaches recounted some of Mack's most notable collegiate feats in a recent article by ESPN's Harry Lyles Jr.

Some opponents also shared stories. Former Ohio State offensive lineman and second-round draft pick Jack Mewhort likened Khalil Mack to Superman:

“We're in a fast-paced, no-huddle offense, and him and I are lined up against each other,” Mewhort said, via Lyles. “I throw a cut block, get the defensive end's hands down, we're going to throw it quick so we want you to cut the guy. So in the middle of the series I'm like, ‘Yeah, OK, perfect, this will be easy. I can do that; at least I can execute that on this guy.'

“So ball gets snapped, I throw a cut block, and I'm looking and I'm like, ‘Where is this guy?' I didn't feel anything. He had stepped back perfect, pushed me to the ground, gets that legendary interception and runs it back for a pick-six. I remember rolling over and looking at him and being like, ‘Wait … he's like Superman.'”

Khalil Mack had 28.5 career sacks, four interceptions and a whopping 16 forced fumbles in his four seasons at Buffalo. He was also named MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.

The former No. 5 overall pick has made waves since turning pro with his combination of speed and brute strength. Needless to say, those who saw Mack in college foresaw his brilliance long before he made it to the NFL.

Khalil Mack will hope to make some big plays and end Chicago's three-game skid as the Bears take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10.
