The Chicago Bears got a huge boost to their defense after managing to convince Robert Quinn to come to them.

However, while the Bears were able to add an outstanding player to their defense, it turns out that his arrival to the team was more a matter of chance than proper decision-making.

The former Los Angeles Rams defensive end saw a lot of interest from NFL teams after his latest stint with the Dallas Cowboys ended poorly. The two teams that eventually got his attention were the Bears and the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens seemingly offered a contract similar to the five-year, $70 million deal the Bears got Quinn for as he had to choose between the to of them.

Quinn eventually sided with the Bears, but he revealed that the way he chose Chicago over Baltimore would make fans chuckle.

Per Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper, Quinn left his fate to a coin. He took a random coin and made a flip to decide which conference he will get to play in for the coming season.

“I really couldn’t make up my mind, so I had to do it the honest way. . . . The Bears were on the right side,” Robert Quinn said.

Bears fans are probably going to thank that coin for bagging themselves a quality defender. Quinn is a proven pass rusher who could probably help Chicago sneak into the playoffs. He finished 2019 with 34 tackles, 11.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and three pass deflections.

With Quinn's arrival, there's a good shot for the Bears to make a run for the playoffs. And if everything goes especially well, they might even get to make a run for the Super Bowl.
