After much debate and deliberation over the course of the last several weeks and even months, former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Justin Fields has finally found his first NFL home. On Thursday evening, the Chicago Bears selected Fields with the No. 11 pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The former collegiate standout notably became the third quarterback taken.

Justin Fields was picked behind Trey Lance and Trevor Lawrence. After a surprising fall, the bears traded up and sent a huge package to get Fields as their next quarterback.

The 22-year-old Fields spent the last two seasons at the famed Ohio State after beginning his collegiate tenure with the Georgia Bulldogs back in 2018-19. Officially entering the limelight upon joining the Buckeyes ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, Justin Fields shined in a big way as a result of his sophomore season en route to producing 41 passing touchdowns alongside just three interceptions. He also tallied just shy of 3,300 passing yards in 2019-20 in addition to rushing for 484 yards and adding another 10 scores.

As a junior in 2020, Justin Fields once again impressed, though he did not quite replicate his production from the season before. In what would become his final go-round as a member of the Buckeyes, the up-and-coming signal caller recorded 22 touchdowns against six picks while also managing an even 2,100 passing yards, 383 rushing yards and a handful of scores via the ground game.

A true dual-threat quarterback, Justin Fields has the ability to beat you with both his arm and legs while possessing the ability to move in and out of the pocket with ease, which seems to be a common trend as elite athletes continue to make the transition from the collegiate ranks to the NFL.
