The Cincinnati Bengals have ushered in some significant changes this offseason with the arrival of new head coach Zac Taylor. It appears he has already made quite the impression on wide receiver A.J. Green.

Taylor is currently in the midst of getting his players up to speed in the new offense in OTAs. According to ESPN's Katherine Terrell, Green is impressed with his coach's knowledge of the game:

“It’s different to have your head coach be in the offensive meeting room going through every play, every detail to every guy, telling them why they need to run this way or what this concept is,” Green said. “It's just a little different, but it's fun. It's awesome because he's so smart, he's so detailed.”

It is encouraging to see that Green is warming up to his new head coach. The Bengals have endured some lackluster years on offense as of late. The front office is hoping that Taylor's offensive-oriented approach will lead a potential resurgence in the 2019 NFL season.

Among his top priorities will be ensuring that Green is fully utilized in the new offense. The veteran has long been regarded as one of the NFL's elite wideouts while serving as the No. 1 option in the passing game throughout his career. He had been working on another Pro Bowl campaign after finishing the 2018 season with 45 receptions for 687 yards and six touchdowns in just eight games.

Green has spent the offseason nursing a toe injury that ended his 2018 campaign early. Although the 30-year-old has yet to take part in OTAs, he is optimistic about returning for training camp.
