The 2018 NFL season of Cincinnati Bengals' star wide receiver A.J. Green was cut short. Fortunately, he appears to be poised for a comeback this season.

Green has spent the offseason nursing a lingering toe injury. ESPN is expecting him to return to his elite form:

ESPN 2019 Stat Predictions

85 receptions, 1,254 yards, seven touchdowns

These are certainly some productive numbers that they have set for Green. This may come as a bit of a surprise considering the 30-year-old is coming off an injury-riddled season. Cincinnati has also ushered in some significant changes this offseason which could have an effect on his overall production next year. Regardless, it is clear that ESPN is not expecting that to happen.

Green has long established himself as one of the NFL's premier wideouts while serving as the bonafide No. 1 option in the Bengals passing game since the start of his career. He was in the midst of another Pro Bowl-caliber year before the injury after finishing the 2018 campaign with 45 receptions for 687 yards and six touchdowns in just eight games. It is safe to say that the two-time All-Pro' expectations for himself are still as high as ever.

New head coach Zac Taylor is expected to lead a potential resurgence on offense in Cincinnati. The team has done what they can to shore up some firepower alongside Green in recent years. His presence should help open things up for players like wide receiver John Ross and running back Joe Mixon to take advantage of opposing defenses. It will be interesting to see if Green is able to meet his projections.
