Most signs point towards the Cincinnati Bengals taking Joe Burrow with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday. According to Jeremy Rauch of Fox19, the Bengals have already informed Burrow that he will be their pick.

Adam Schefter of ESPN was on the Dan Patrick Show and echoed a similar message. Schefter said teams have reached out to the Bengals trying to swing a trade, but they have turned them back, saying they will be selecting Burrow.

There was some concern a couple of months back that Burrow might not want to play with the Bengals. but those concerns seem to be gone. LSU Tigers coach Ed Orgeron thinks that Burrow is ready to fight to have success in the NFL.

“I think that Joe has not had a silver spoon in his mouth all his life. I think Joe has had to fight all his life.

“And I think if he does have to fight — and it may be Cincinnati — he's willing to fight for that. And he's willing to build a team. And he's willing to go through adversity if he has to.

“Nothing was promised to him here [at LSU]. He came here with faith and built a championship team. And I don't see why he couldn't do it at Cincinnati.”

If Burrow is selected with the Bengals' top pick there won't be a whole lot of time spent celebrating. Even with social distancing, there is a lot of work for any rookie to do, but especially a quarterback who is expected to be new leader of a team and the face of the franchise.
