For many years now, the talks of the Cincinnati Bengals possibly firing Marvin Lewis was constantly in the news cycle. After the 2018 season completed, the Bengals finally moved on from Lewis after spending 16 years with the franchise.

Owner Mike Brown recently talked about the coaching change at the NFL owner's meetings.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

“It's new. It's different and we're going to find out. You'll get a feel for (Taylor) as they go about it. They all have good certifications, good backgrounds and I'm as interested as anybody to see just how it fits together out on the field, how it all works. It's going to be quite different for us. That's the fact. I think that's what our fans wanted. They felt we needed that. I think maybe they're right in how they feel.

The Bengals decided to hire Zac Taylor as their new head coach this offseason. Taylor comes from the Los Angeles Rams—where he was the quarterback's coach.

Many believed that Taylor would be considered for a coaching job due to shaking hands with Sean McVay at least once. All jokes aside, Taylor comes from McVay's coaching staff—which means he knows the system he'll likely run in Cincinnati.

As Brown said, fans have been asking for a change to be made—with their wishes being fulfilled this offseason. The Bengals are hoping for more success with Taylor calling the shots.

In 16 seasons with Lewis as head coach, he coached in seven playoff games but never won one of them.

There is a new regime coming to Cincinnati and fans have something to get excited about.
