Why The Dodgers Will Cover The Spread/Win
The Dodgers should be able to put some runs on the board in this game. Los Angeles is fourth in batting average, second in slugging percentage, third in home runs, third in hard hit percentage, and fourth in average exit velocity. The Dodgers lineup hits the ball hard when they make contact, and there will be plenty of chances for that in this one. If the Dodgers can get hot offensively, they will be able to win this game.
The Dodgers have Bobby Miller on the mound in this one. He is struggling to pitch on the road this season, but his last start was his first since April. He is still getting back into the swing of things. In this game, he gets to face one of the worst offenses in the MLB. Chicago is bottom-5 in plenty of offensive categories, and Miller will take advantage of it.
Why The White Sox Will Cover The Spread/Win
The White Sox have to find a way to hit the ball better. They are a team that has to perform offensively if they want to win. In fact, the White Sox are 11-11 when they score at least five runs this season. As mentioned earlier, Bobby Miller has not pitched well on the road, so the White Sox could have a chance to do some damage. As long as the White Sox hit the ball, they will at least keep this game close.
Chris Flexen is not having a great season, but he is having a good month of June. He has made four starts, thrown 19.1 innings, and he has a 3.72 ERA in those games. His ERA would be much lower, but he had a tough outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Flexen is throwing the ball well at the moment, and the Dodgers are down Mookie Betts. If Flexen continues his good month of June, the White Sox will keep this game close.
Final Dodgers-White Sox Prediction & Pick
I am not going to overthink this game. The Dodgers are better than the White Sox by a longshot, and that is going to show in this game. I am fully expecting the Dodgers to not only win this game, but cover the spread, as well.
