Game 2 between the Yankees and Twins is tonight! It's time to continue our MLB odds series with a Yankees-Twins prediction and pick.
The Yanks took the first game rather easily in the 10-4 win. NY scored three runs right off the bat as Aaron Judge hit his MLB leading 22nd home run of the season in the first inning. Giancarlo Stanton followed up two batters later with a solo shot himself and the Yankees had a quick 3-0 lead. Another Judge RBI and later a Rizzo homer led the Yankees past the Twins as Lucas Leutge earned the win.
The Twins still sit atop the AL Central Division. At (32-25) they host the (40-15) Yankees who are on a roll right now. The Twins have lost six of their last 10 games while NY has won seven straight games and eight of their last 10. Both teams are heading in opposite directions but this should still be an entertaining matchup.

Why The Yankees Could Cover The Spread
Nestor Cortes will be on the bump for the Yanks in this game. The rising star is pitching very well this season with a (5-1) record and 1.50 ERA in 60 innings pitched. Cortes has allowed just five runs in his last five starts and the Yankees have won all of those games. That is a great sign for bettors in this one.
Offensively, the Yankees lineup is dominating as well. Aaron Judge is the MVP front runner right now in the AL as he is batting .315 with 22 homers and 45 RBIs. Judge is leading the team right now in just about every offensive category but he isn't the only one playing well. Staton is batting .280 and Rizzo has 14 home runs on the season. If Rizzo, Josh Donaldson, Joey Gallo, and Gleyber Torres all improve their average, then this team is scary.
They should be able to cover this spread once again on the road as the Yankees usually dominate veteran pitching.
Why The Twins Could Cover The Spread
Chris Archer is on the mound for the Twins tonight as he has a tough test ahead. The Yankees are rolling and will likely put up some runs against Archer here. The vet is pitching pretty well this year as his average sits at 3.89 in 39.1 innings. He hasn't earned a win yet this season, however, it likely won't happen tonight.
Offensively for the Twins, they are not known as a home run hitting team as the Bronx Bombers are. The Twins are in the middle of the pack with 62 homers on the year while the Yankees lead the MLB with 83 … 10 more than the Houston Astros. What gets the job done for the Twins is their team average. Their team average is .249 which is 7th in the majors tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers. That is a good team to be compared to offensively.
Luis Arraez is batting .361 on the season as he is one of the best pure left-handed contact hitters in the game. Gio Urshela is batting .274 with five homers and Carlos Correa is hitting .279 in only 140 ABs. Correa and Byron Buxton have missed time this season but are healthy now and ready to catch fire again. Buxton leads the lineup with 12 home runs. If Gary Sanchez and Max Kepler get going, this team will be scary.
Final Yankees-Twins Prediction & Pick
The Yankees have Cortes on the mound and they have won his last five starts. Going against a struggling team at the moment, take the Yankees on the road.
Final Yankees-Twins Prediction & Pick: Yankees -1.5 (-118)
